The Mistake That Almost Killed My First Shopify Store (and What It Taught Me About Conversions)
When I launched my very first Shopify store back in 2016, I thought I had it all figured out.
My tagline? “Fashion for everyone.”
Catchy, right?
Except… it meant I was selling to no one. 😅
That one mistake nearly sank my store before it even had a chance to grow. I was chasing everyone instead of speaking to one specific customer. And when you try to talk to everyone, you end up connecting with nobody.
The truth is, this is the exact mistake I still see Shopify founders making today. They drive traffic, post on social media, maybe even run ads — but the messaging is too broad, the product path is confusing, and the store just isn’t ready to convert.
That experience with my first store is what eventually led me to develop the Pixel to Profits™ Framework — a 5-stage system for building conversion-ready Shopify stores.
It’s the same framework that’s helped:
-
Barecat Body Care increase conversions by 854% and generate $345K+ in sales
-
It’s Just Different cross $97K in less than a year
Now I’m teaching it live inside my upcoming Conversion Machine Webinar.

If you’ve ever felt like your store is leaking sales — or worse, like you’re doing “all the things” but still not growing — then this training is for you.
I’ll walk you through the 5 stages, show you real examples, and give you clarity on what’s actually holding your store back.
Because sometimes the difference between a store that struggles and a store that scales… comes down to avoiding the mistake I made with that first tagline.
